Kings Canyon held on to its name being the biggest attraction of the Watarrka National Park. If you want to have a glimpse of the king, you need to fly towards the Northern Territory of Australia. After your flight, you will be able to get there through a campervan. In the Northern Territory, there are available campervans for hire so transportation will just be plain easy for you.
Watarrka National Park is also often referred to as the Kings Canyon National Park. In this beautiful park, there lies the scenic view of the George Gill Range. You will be astonished with the gorge’s beauty. The narrow valley consists of red sandstone walls that are approximately over a hundred meters in height. The steep rocky walls and domes flaunt their amazing sandstone formations.
How to Enjoy your Visit in the Kings Canyon
The floor of the canyon is consisting of rims which go around the canyon’s full length. It’s time to park your campervan at nearby parking lots for you to get a walk in those rims. Two of the most popular walks in the Kings Canyon National Park include the Kings Creek Walk and the Kings Canyon Rim Walk.
The Kings Creek Walk has a total walking distance 2.6 kilometers and in return. You can finish the walk within an hour. Even people on wheelchair can access this path. This is just an easy stroll wherein you can enjoy the view of the available vegetations in the area. Aside from that, you can have a nice, clear view of the towering canyon walls.
On the other hand, the Kings Canyon Rim Walk is a much more challenging walk. But compared to the Kings Creek Walk, you can expect more spectacular scenic views. As you travel along the steep climbs, you can see the sandstone formation of the walls. As you continue your little hike, the ground of the canyon becomes more uneven. However, for a few minutes, you’ll be able to find yourself at the canyon’s Lost City. The Lost City looks like weathered sandstone domes. You will also have the opportunity to reach the Garden of Eden. The Garden of Eden is located at the canyon’s very sheltered valley. Its construction has a permanent water hole wherein everyone tries to swim for an amazing kind of experience.
